Nicola Roe

Nicola qualified as a solicitor in September 2005 having obtained her law degree at Leicester University and completed her Legal practice course at Nottingham law school. Nicola is also a keen show jumper having represented Great Britain on a number of occasions!
Nicola trained with regional law firm HBJ Gateley Wareing during which she spent a year advising on Employment law. Upon qualification Nicola has worked primarily in Nottingham at Richard Nelson Solicitors and latterly for Shakespeares before joining the Ironmonger Curtis employment team in December 2011.
Nicola has experience in a wide range of employment issues. She enjoys dealing with both contentious and non-contentious matters.
Nicola has represented and advised both small and medium sized companies as well as senior directors and HR personnel. Her experience includes drafting and advising on compromise agreements, negotiating exit packages for senior employees, preparing contracts of employment and company handbooks. She also enjoys advising HR professionals on a range of employment law procedures.
Nicola has represented clients in variety of employment tribunal claims ranging from unfair dismissal, holiday pay and a range of discrimination claims. She has also experience advising on grievance and disciplinary procedures.
Nicola also acts for individuals.
As with all our team, Nicola takes a keen interest in understanding the clients business and needs. This enables her advice to be commercial and helps to get the outcome that the client really wants.
On a personal level Nicola enjoys spending time with her four year old daughter – Demi may and her family. Nicola also competes regularly in Show jumping competitions. This keeps her busy in her spare time as she attends competitions throughout the UK and abroad. Nicola has represented Great Britain both in junior team events (in Europe and the home- counties) and individually at senior level. Nicola is hoping that her daughter will follow in her footsteps! At the moment Demi is working hard to master her little pony – Tinky!
