Jon Curtis
Partner, Employment Law
Jon Curtis is head of the Employment Law team and a founding partner of Ironmonger Curtis LLP. He has years of experience advising primarily SME businesses and executives in employment law.
Jon has lived in Sheffield since completing his law society finals at Sheffield University in 1998. He trained at a national law firm before taking on the Head of Employment role at a Sheffield practice.
In 2005 Jon and Trevor set up Ironmonger Curtis with a vision for providing quality commercial legal services at competitive prices.
Jon has a creative streak and is the designer of the ground-breaking online HR admin system myhrtoolkit (www.myhrtookit.com).
In addition to being a qualified solicitor Jon has a degree in business, a diploma from the Chartered Institute of Marketing and is a fluent (if rusty) German speaker. Jon is married and has two children.
Over the years Jon has:
- Successfully defended numerous employment tribunal claims for Sheffield employers;
- Negotiated many executive compromise agreements;
- Undertaken small and large scale redundancy and reorganisation programs;
- Undertaken public speaking duties in particular on the Transfer of Undertakings legislation and employment law issues relating to business transfers;
- Written numerous articles and HR / employment law reports;
- Advised hundreds of small and medium sized businesses on their HR planning;
- Undertaken HR training on topics as diverse as equality, investigations, grievance and disciplinary procedures.
